What Replit gives you
According to Replit’s documentation, after every successful publish Replit runs an SEO audit and shows an SEO rating, based on a Lighthouse audit. Ratings run for public deployment types: Autoscale, Reserved VM and Static. On paid plans, the SEO Agent in the Growth pane turns each finding into a one-click fix.
Pick the right deployment type
For content-heavy sites, Replit recommends Static Deployments, which serve pre-rendered HTML that search engines can read straight away. If your app is a dynamic web app, check what Google actually sees: in Google Search Console, use URL Inspection and View crawled page, and make sure your headline and text are in the HTML.
What’s up to you
- Unique titles and descriptions. Replit suggests titles under about 60 characters and descriptions of around 150–160.
- A sitemap and robots.txt. Replit suggests asking Agent to create both.
- Social preview tags, so your link looks good when shared.
- Your own domain. Replit recommends a custom domain, and so do we. Redirect your
.replit.appaddress to it so the same page doesn’t live at two addresses. - Search Console. Replit’s SEO docs don’t cover it, so connect it yourself and submit your sitemap.
Prompt to paste into Replit Agent
Create a sitemap.xml listing my public pages with full URLs on my custom domain, and a robots.txt that allows search engines on public pages, blocks private ones and points to the sitemap. Give every public page a unique title under 60 characters, a meta description of about 150 characters and Open Graph tags.
Your data and keys
Keep API keys in Replit’s Secrets, not in your code, and make sure secret keys are only used on the server, never in code sent to the browser. Then check that one user can’t read another user’s data. Our security guide walks through it.
