Launch checklist for v0 apps

By the LaunchPal team · Updated 20 October 2026

In short

v0 builds Next.js apps that deploy to Vercel and are rendered on the server, which gives you a head start with search engines. The preview isn’t your live site, though. Deploy to production, connect your own domain, write metadata for every page, keep keys in environment variables and connect Search Console.

A good starting point

v0 builds Next.js apps that deploy to Vercel. Vercel says v0’s output includes structured metadata and server-side rendering, so pages arrive as finished HTML that search engines can read. Most of the “Google sees an empty page” problems other builders have don’t apply.

The preview isn’t your live site

The preview inside v0 is for building. To launch, deploy the project to Vercel as a production deployment, and share that address, not a preview link.

What’s up to you

Prompt to paste into v0

Add Next.js metadata to every public page: a unique title under 60 characters, a description under 160 characters and Open Graph tags with a 1200×630 image. Add sitemap.ts and robots.ts that use my production domain, and keep private routes out of the sitemap.

Your data and keys

Keep secret keys in Vercel environment variables and use them only in server code (server components, route handlers or server actions). Never put them in a variable that starts with NEXT_PUBLIC_, which is sent to the browser. If your app uses a database, check that users can only read their own data. Our security guide has the details.

Builders change fast. If something here no longer matches what you see, the builder’s own docs win.
